Unsolicited Feedback: YouTube audio-only music videos

I begrudgingly use the Apple TV YouTube app, because it's the easiest way to access YT on my TV. But there are SO MANY problems with it. It's ridiculous how many problems there are! What I'll gripe about tonight is the audio-only mode for music videos which I enable when watching many concert or long-form music mix videos because a lot of the time, the video is distracting, annoying, or headache-inducing (rein in the swooping drone footage! 🙄 😡).

Anyway, it's nice to have the audio-only mode, but it looks so awful and is a waste of TV screen space. Here's a snippet of what I see on my TV:

As I zoomed out to show almost the whole TV screen, you can see a ton of dead space around a stupidly small, truncated thumbnail, and scrolling title text.

How hard is it to take the existing thumbnail for the video and display it in fullscreen or in some decorated frame filling the screen if you want to differentiate from a video with a static image, with the full title caption underneath? That's the very least you should do for a decent UX.

Ideally, there'd be something more interesting to do with the screen. I know those audio visualizations from the early 2000s can be cheesy, but they'd still be frickin' better than the current UI. I would choose something unobtrusive, like a continuously shifting color gradient, unless I wanted a fun, energetic visualization to match the music.

And not that I want to encourage more GenAI slop, but isn't this an example of where generated AI visuals could be an interesting demonstration, again, if it's done right (which it often IS NOT)? :sigh:

Like I said, YouTube on the Apple TV has a ton of problems, so this probably won't be the last you'll hear about it here, though I'll try to space it out, so as not to inundate. Be better, YouTube. 🤨
