Picture(s) a Day: Apr 28

Close up on a cat's face looking off to the left of the camera; expired Polaroid film with aqua and yellow tones
The scan emphasizes the little dots of "film rot" in the frame, but if you look at the photo IRL at a certain angle, the film rot almost disappears.

It's Polaroid Week 2024, day 6 + 2! 😆 (Polaroid Week was officially scheduled for April 21 - 26, so these are "bonus" days.)

The first picture is an example of expired Artistic TZ film that didn't completely succumb to film rot, or whatever you call it when the development goes bad. Usually the images I take end up looking like the following, or worse, where the brown grossness really obscures the subject, so I have to scan or take a picture of the picture before it gets to this point. 😒 It's moot to know this since I don't have any more of this film.

Close up on a cat lying on his side in front of a window, looking to his left; expired instant film has random brown splotches, like spilled tea or pop, and other random dots of "rot" raising the plastic layer off of the film layer
This is a more typical showing of the expired Artistic TZ film where brownish blobs develop randomly across the frame, really obscuring the subject in addition to the random dots. 😝

Below is a bonus picture of Pixel (these all are of Pixel, sorry Sprite! 😾) that's slightly "rotten", but you can still see him, mostly.

Close up on a cat's face looking down and to the right of the camera, bathed in strong sunlight, half of his face in shadow; the expired instant film has random dots of "film rot" visible in the shadowy areas of the frame.
