pictures of the day: aug 13

I'm taking a break from the Shitty Camera Challenge because I wanted to use my Ricoh GXR. Today I adapted my Nikon 50mm 1.8 and brought it on the evening walk. I was impressed that the out-of-the-camera JPEGs pretty much looked like how I remembered the lighting and colors when I took the pictures. However, I did some post-processing on these anyway, for a little zhuzh. 😀

I really liked how the sunlight hit these weird brown and green leaves.

We once again came across one of the friendly kitties in the neighborhood, but it's hard to take pictures of the gray tabby because they're moving around so much. Thanks to manual focus and my poor eyes, I didn't quite get the focus right in these, but I like the pictures anyway.

Now that I have the electronic viewfinder attachment for the GXR, I feel more comfortable framing up shots because I can bring the camera up to my eye. For some reason, having a camera with interchangeable lenses makes me want to put the camera up to my eye. 😅
