My cat Sprite, Diana F+, 55mm + close-up filter

It's day 2 of Polaroid Week, Fall 2025.

I remembered that I found some other Diana F+ accessories a while back, so I grabbed them and saw I had a 55mm lens (the other lens I've been using is a 75mm) plus a close-up filter. I had to look up how close I could focus: 15 cm or ~6 inches, apparently.

Last night I took this shot of Sprite, a 2-second exposure, handheld, braced against my leg, totally estimating the framing, and was really surprised at how nicely it turned out. I was expecting major motion blur, or maybe the framing to be totally off. Good job, Me. 😀

For my second image, I walked around Stanford Shopping Center for a little bit today, since they have random flowers and other foliage around. Unfortunately my close-ups of their pretty dahlias didn't turn out so great, thanks to the inconsistent lighting and my inexperience with setting the aperture and whatnot on the Diana F+. But I took this shot of a tree turning red for fall:

It's...alright. It is on par with what one would expect of a toy camera, but compared to my picture of Sprite, it's meh. 😝

For my bonus picture today, I saw another development error frame from day 1's failed shots and liked how the magenta color had deepened by the next day, so I decided to put the two frames together in a diptych. Dunno if that's cheating a bit, since one of the frames was yesterday's image #2, but this is an extra, "outtake" anyway.

The organic magenta shapes kind of remind me of slices of organic material on glass slides that medical students or professionals would be studying under a microscope. :somewhat ick: 😅
