View of 2 plastic photo album sleeves showing 8 different Polaroid pictures of varying subjects

Over the weekend I received these Polaroid picture album sleeves and went through my archives to begin organizing them. I only ordered 2 packs of 25 pages, each page capable of holding 8 pictures. I filled up both packs (save for a couple slots I left empty) and have a huge stack of Polaroids yet to put away. I actually didn’t think that I had taken that many pictures, since I kind of got on the Polaroid bandwagon right before Polaroid decided to stop film production. I thought maybe I’d shot several packs before the film disappeared, then a few random packs when The Impossible Project released their first versions of their film “reboot”. But I apparently shot many images with abandon during the short time that 600 film was readily available. I also shot some random packs of the expired 779 film, and one or two packs of a matte Polaroid film I didn’t recall shooting. I also shot maybe a pack of Impossible Project’s initial black and white film and a couple (or more) packs of their initial color film.

I’m not sure if I bought any of the newest formula of Polaroid film, but I have shot Polaroid Go film and both mini and regular-sized Instax film which is separate from the Pola archive I went through last night. Wow!

Another image of 2 plastic photo album pages showing 8 Polaroid pictures of varying subjects including flowers, trees, a close of an art mosaic, a Japanese stone lantern at a park, abstract view of overhead lights in a symmetrical cross-shaped skylight, and a night image of the LED fountains at Millennium Park in Chicago with a huge light leak distortion over almost the whole frame

I do miss shooting 600 film on my SX-70 and my (now broken) SLR680. They are incredible cameras that can make lovely images.

I will be scanning my archives now that I have them more easily accessible. I found a bunch of shots from Yosemite that I took before my SLR680 broke (😭). I have a shot of Half Dome that I LOVE and am surprised I didn’t post online (or maybe I have and I didn’t find it yet).

I should pick up some newer Polaroid film and shoot with it to see how different it behaves in my SX-70 (which I’ll have to mod to work with the newer film). Instant film photography is a rather expensive hobby, which I why I haven’t done much of it lately, even though I miss it so much.
