Picture(s) a Day: Aug 1

I stopped at Central Park in Santa Clara (not in NYC! 😆) and snapped a few photos with my Superheadz Sun&Cloud camera and the Canon PowerShot N. I was actually really surprised at how good the digitally-zoomed in photos of this "king bird" (anyone know what bird it actually is?) looked. I further cleaned the shot up with Topaz Photo AI and got a pretty good final image. There are still blown highlights and chromatic aberration, but overall a decent snap.

The original image wasn't so bad, but I wanted to see how well it could be cleaned up. The results are promising.

I have mixed feelings about going to Central Park because it's overrun by geese, and therefore has goose poop everywhere. :shudder: But it's still an okay place to walk around, catch birds like this snowy egret (TIL), and play a little Pokemon GO (I caught a Tornadus from a successful raid, yay) while walking.

I love the Super Mono mode on the Sun&Cloud for shots like this:

Very high-contrast, grainy black and white image of a line of evergreen trees along the bottom of the frame against a dark sky and wispy white clouds
