picture of the day: mar 26

I heard the scrub jays outside calling, so I refilled their little dish on the deck with some unshelled peanuts. This time I was able to get some pictures of them with my Fuji and telephoto. These birds aren't as comfortable around people as previous scrub jays have been, so I have to stay out of their view when I'm near the windows. Somewhat annoyingly, it seems like these scrub jays are hiding the peanuts rather than eating them right away, but I do have a picture of one of them with a shelled peanut in his beak. 🙂
