picture of the day: jan 13

For 2026, I'm going to switch my "daily" picture taking to when the mood strikes me, instead of trying to find something to photograph every day. While I did appreciate the creative nudge that trying to post a daily picture gave me, I haven't felt as much inspiration lately and don't want to force it if I don't feel it. Perhaps now is not the time to pull back on the daily nudge, but I've decided to keep it looser for the moment. I can always change my mind later.

I might show a burst of picture taking because I recently purchased the 50mm macro lens module for my Ricoh GXR (example review) as a belated Xmas present to myself. I'm eagerly awaiting its arrival from Japan.
