LOL πŸ˜‚

For no real reason, I decided to use my MacBook Air to read a book from Google Play Books instead of busting out my BOOX Palma which is my primary e-book reader. I guess I wanted to be lazy and not hold anything and have larger page real estate.

Anyway, as I often do, I'll highlight a passage and leave a note or highlight it for later reference. This time I was pissed about a sentence I read and wrote out a note, "Oh FFS!" and wanted to punctuate it with an emoji. What I saw from MacOS's emoji autofill made me literally laugh out loud:

Screen capture of my typed note, "Oh FFS!" with a contextual menu underneath of relevant emoji, 3 versions of the facepalm emoji with different genders to choose from

🀣 And then when I expanded the emoji menu to pick something else, I saw these suggestions above the list of my recently used emoji:

I did not train the emoji suggestions (I don't even know if that's possible). Normally the emoji suggestions that come up aren't that relevant because it's only looking at the last word in the sentence, and I am usually adding little smiley faces to punctuate the sentiment across a full sentence or two. So when I saw the facepalm emoji pop up, I was so tickled by this little detail, I had to write about it. πŸ˜€

Good job, MacOS devs! πŸ‘
