Inkvent 2025 - Day 8
The first day of a new week brings a seemingly facetious ink, a snoozefest, and a bright sunshiny ink to combat the cold, dreary weather.
Swatches

Left to right: Colorverse Snow Angel, Diamine Dream Catcher, Kuretake Chrome Yellow
Colorverse
Snow Angel is...brown? I'm guessing Colorverse is having a laugh at when snow gets all slushy and gross after a while. Otherwise, I don't see how a light milk chocolate brown relates to "snow angel". In fact, it may have been too on the nose, but I wouldn't have minded this ink being called Hot Chocolate, Hot Cocoa, or something to that effect.
As for the color, it's fine. It does remind me of a creamy hot cocoa drink that's on the lighter shade. The pinkish tones I could've done without, but they're not a total dealbreaker.
Diamine
I already groaned when I saw "extreme sheen" on the side of the label for Dream Catcher, but then I swatched it and was even more disappointed. Have we not seen this kind of blue base with red sheen ink so many times before? It reminds me of either Cosmic Glow or Vibe from last year's Inkvent. Vibe was more of a dark teal with strong red sheen, so it would be closer than Cosmic Glow, I think, but still. I admit that blue inks with red sheen are the ones I probably like the most because I don't mind the result of the sheen either mixing with or overpowering the base shade, but it doesn't mean it's not also completely overdone.
Slackvent
Kuretake Chrome Yellow is such a nice, vibrant orangey-yellow, just the kind of yellow shade I prefer most. So sunshiny and saturated! I have only used one other Kuretake ink.
Tangent: I have one that's tea-themed which I bought on a whim and didn't realize how expensive it was. It kind of soured me because the brown shade didn't seem all that interesting to me at the time, and I felt I paid way too much for it. I should revisit it, though, to see if I was being too harsh. /tangent
This Kuretake ink looks happy and bright. Given my reaction to the other two inks, I think Slackvent ended up "winning" today's round.
