Inkvent 2025 - Day 6

Today I was delayed in posting because it was Christmas tree shopping day. 🙂 We got a decent one from a tree farm that was new to us this year, Patchen Tree Farms in Los Gatos, CA.

Anyway, for today's 3 inks, perhaps Diamine pulled a tiny bit ahead of the other two, but all 3 are fine specimens.

Swatches

Colorverse

This is an alright sheener. We've seen this kind of medium-bright blue with red sheen many times before. It kind of looks similar to the base color of Diamine Arctic Blast which was one of my favorite inks from the first Diamine Inkvent I bought (green). Considering I'm not a huge sheening ink fan, I think this low-key sheener would be one I'd use over the more obnoxious ones. I like the resulting color from the base mixing with the sheen. It's fine.

Diamine

I like Fir & Fog because it has a nice green-gray base, and a great ink name. 🙂 It has a pink-to-green chameleon shimmer, but it's kinda subtle, at least that's how it seemed when I swatched it. I would be tempted to fill a pen with this without shaking the ink first to leave most of the shimmer behind. It reminds me of Herbin Vert de Gris, but I think Vert de Gris might be more green than this.

Slackvent

This is an accidental dupe sample. I ordered a sample of this ink in October and may not have updated my Fountain Pen Companion library with this info before my swap buddy picked out inks. Totally my fault, not theirs! 😅

It's an interesting dark brown that I'd heard a few people rave about, but I might need to dilute it further when I fill a pen, because it is a dark enough shade that normally wouldn't be distinguishable from black in regular writing (as you might know, this is not my ink color preference). The color does evoke a vintage-y, antique-y vibe as its name implies, so good job on that.

Any comments on today's inks? Catch me here, on Mastodon, or Bluesky.
