Inkvent 2025 - Day 22
Today brings a couple inks that are...okay. Colorverse's is too dark for me, while Diamine's is a color that I don't use, but it is a decent version of the color, so... 🤷♀️

In these later days of inkvent, I've been watching YT videos from the list I shared a little while back before posting my thoughts, partially to see the Colorvent blurbs in case there's extra context I should know about the ink, and partially to hear their opinions on the ink and how they align or differ from my gut reactions. My gut reaction for Sojourner was that it's a blurple version of MAVEN Mission with a matte sheen similar to the matte sheen of Diamine Energy from this year's Inkvent, day 2. I think the sheen on Sojourner is more yellowish-brown than MAVEN Mission's green-gold sheen.

Bookish Artist on YT made a very apt comparison, calling out Sojourner's similarity to Sailor Yurameku Date Gokoro, which I should've recognized, considering Date Gokoro is one of my favorite Yurameku inks. But for these daily posts I don't really focus on ink comparisons (to help lighten the load of writing them), so I'm giving myself a pass on that. 😛
The "problem" with Sojourner for me is that it's a thick, opaque ink (especially compared to Sailor Date Gokoro), so in writing, it looks black, which is not my preference. I think even in an EF nib, it would still look black, so this ultimately is not for me.
Diamine
Pineapple Spritz is a pigment ink with chameleon shimmer, but as usual, I couldn't really see the color shift in the shimmer. I primarily see gold, which is fine. The base itself is a sunny, perhaps sunflower, yellow with the slightest hint of brown to make it different from a primary color yellow.

The combo with the gold shimmer is pleasant enough, and does seem like a nice shimmer for holiday cards. But I don't really use yellow inks, so this won't be one I reach for much.
I accidentally used the Kakimori glass nib and Sailor Hocoro brush nib for the swatch, instead of switching to my folded nib and long blade nib, but the pigment ink cleaned out fine without much effort from the glass and brush nibs. Since my use of the ink is pretty temporary for these swatches, I shouldn't have worried so much. I can understand people being wary of putting these in their fountain pens for longer amounts of time, but that doesn't apply to my situation.
Not too many inks left and the inks I'm opening are still not ramping up in awesomeness, so perhaps both sets are going to end more quietly, rather than with a bang? We'll see. Your thoughts?
