Inkvent 2025 - Day 20

In the last few days (4 for Colorvent, 5 for Inkvent), both Colorverse and Diamine have come out swinging with shimmers. This time Colorverse won my preference.

Colorverse

Regular readers probably know that Golden Airglow, being a brown-based ink, appeals to me. 😅 The brown goes on a little bit warmer, like a milk chocolate color, but ultimately dries to a cooler brown.

The base color reminds me of Diamine Walnut from a couple (?) years ago. I think Dominant Industry Winter Wood is also similar, but maybe darker and more saturated.

The gold shimmer is pretty dense and provides additional flair, but you can sample the ink without shaking the bottle and minimize the shimmer, if you want.

Diamine

Ambience is a peachy orange (or orangey peach?) with very dense chameleon shimmer that changes between pink and orange (I think; as always it's hard to find the right angles to see both colors).

I was surprised at how much shimmer was in the bottle. When I did a small dip with my glass nib, it felt like I was writing with a shimmer paste...!

The color is really not my thing, but I like that it is different from the colors that came before in this year's set. And it's interesting how much shimmer they decided to add to the base.

I was reminded of Diamine Fruit Cocktail from last year, but I think Fruit Cocktail is more orange and lighter (and it's a scented ink that's very wet). Someone else mentioned that Ambience looks similar to Celebration from a few years back.

Even though Diamine's offering is not for me, I appreciated both shimmer inks for today. Maybe it's the proximity to Christmas that's softening my opinion. 😜 We'll see how tomorrow goes.
