Inkvent 2025 - Day 19

Diamine's offering is more appealing to me than Colorverse's for day 19. We're nearing the home stretch; it'll be interesting to see if things escalate as far as colors or gimmicks in the last few days.

Colorverse

Cosmic Reef is a sheening ink with a dark blue-black base with green tones (almost a dark greenish teal?) and brown sheen. When I watched the swatching video by Bookish Artist on YouTube, she observed that Cosmic Reef is basically the same as Diamine's Molten Basalt from day 13, and I agree, except that Cosmic Reef is greener.

If I had to choose between the two, I'd pick Molten Basalt, but I'd really want to pick neither, because they're too dark and I don't like the sheen.

Diamine

Overcast is a pretty, translucent ink with a light blue base and pink chromoshading. This combo has been done before, but I'm not tired of it (obvious bias for chromoshading inks). 😅 Once again, I agree with Bookish Artist who said Overcast looks like a blue version of Diamine Celadon Cat. I really like Celadon Cat already; having a blue version is nice. 🙂 It may also be similar to Troublemaker's Milky Ocean. Not sure I'll buy a full bottle of Overcast, but I'll enjoy using this small bottle's worth.
