Inkvent 2025 - Day 17
For today's inks, Diamine edges out Colorverse for my preferences, mainly because of the color they chose.
Swatches

Left: Colorverse Diamond Planet, right: Diamine Gala
Colorverse
Diamond Planet is yet another variation of a blue with a red sheen, although the base color is more of a blue-leaning teal, and the sheen is more reddish-purple and more subtle, so not a total stereotypical blue sheener. The base color reminds me a lot of Pilot Iroshizuku Tsuki-Yo, except more opaque. IIRC, Tsuki-Yo is translucent enough to show shading, but don't quote me on that because I've only used a sample a long time ago. Diamond Planet is a fine ink, but because I'm not partial to teals, and it's more opaque than I prefer, I'm probably not going to use this one much.
Diamine
I definitely prefer bluer, cooler purples, but Gala's red-/pink-leaning violet is still appealing to me. It feels like a great ink for the upcoming spring. When the ink is still wet, it's more pinkish, but then it cools and mutes down slightly to the pink-violet in the scan. Not too much more to say; it's a pretty ink. 🤷♀️
How are you all feeling about today's inks? If you have more to say about them than I did (😅), feel free to comment below, or on Mastodon, or Bluesky.
