Inkvent 2025 - Day 14

Did Colorverse make a decent dupe of a beloved discontinued ink? They might've, but I can only speculate as I don't have direct experience with said ink. Diamine released another pigment ink in a color that, while not my favorite, looks pleasant.

Swatches

Colorverse

MAVEN Mission is a lovely dark magenta-purple. When I first swatched it, I thought that it might be a darker ink that I would like to use. Then as it dried, I saw the golden sheen and thought, "whoa, is this a dupe of the original Lamy Dark Lilac?" There was another ink on a previous day, from Slackvent, that looked like it could be a dupe of the current Lamy Dark Lilac with the green sheen. Now this one might be an OG dupe. What do you think? The golden sheen overtakes the base color in writing, which I don't like, but perhaps with a fine or dry enough nib, the sheen could be tamed.

Diamine

I've said before, I'm not a pink person (I'm a purple person). So Mittens doesn't exactly interest me that much, but I do admit it's a cheerful color. Initially when it was wet, it seemed like it had a bit of light purple or lilac tones, but after it dried, I don't see them. It's interesting how swatching these pigment inks with my folded nib, somehow it brings out these frost-like spread patterns in the swatch. The frost patterns looked very on-theme for the last pigment shimmer ink, Brrr!

What do you all think of today's inks? Comment here, on Mastodon, or Bluesky.
