Inkvent 2025 - Day 12

Today is the last day for Slackvent, Colorverse has a sheener that seems disappointing to some, and Diamine's ink evokes celebration.

Swatches

Colorverse

Since I am posting my update later in the day than I usually do, I've watched a couple of the YT channels doing daily videos on Colorvent, and both mentioned their disappointment in Blood Falls because of its close appearance to day 1's ink, Martian Dust. I think they are ultimately 2 different inks because this one is wetter suggesting a sheening ink. Martian Dust has a sheen, but I don't think it's specifically a sheening ink. The base colors also look very slightly different in swatches (I perceive a pinkish undertone in Blood Falls I don't see in Martian Dust), but in writing, I think they would look pretty similar.

I am not a fan of today's ink a) because it's not the kind of red ink shade I like, and b) it's a strong sheener where the sheen overwhelms the base color. So it's a wash for me, regardless of the similarity to Martian Dust, which is also not a color for me.

Diamine

Bubbly is a shimmer ink evoking champagne. At first I wasn't that into the yellow-greenish undertones, but it has grown on me.

When I swatched the ink without shaking the bottle to see more of the base color, it kind of reminds me of a chromoshading ink with green, brown, and yellow undertones, which I don't mind at all. The cooler appearance of the base color ends up going well with the champagne shimmer, and closely matches the shade of the drink.

Slackvent

It's the last ink for Slackvent... Maybe I should've timed this to end on Christmas, like the Diamine set will? Something to think about for next year. 🙂

My ink swap buddy sent a full bottle for the final ink, what a generous gift! And it's an ink from a Sailor series I haven't gotten into myself, the Tea Time series. I only labeled the ink "Tea Time - Koicha" on the swatch because I didn't have room to add in the full name: Sailor Tea Time - Japanese Tea Ceremony - Koicha.

The product page quotes that, "Koicha (thick tea) is made with a generous heaping of Matcha powder kneaded with a small amount of hot water." This green ink is very much the color of concentrated matcha and has some slight yellow and brown undertones in the swatch. Totally my kind of green! I'm likely going to fill a pen with it soon. Many thanks to my swap buddy this year for a fun batch of inks. 🤩✨
