Inkvent 2025 - Day 10

The last couple posts I've had some confusion around the Colorverse inks since I don't read the blurbs before swatching them, but I think today's ink should be relatively straightforward, no corrections needed. 😝 🤞

All of today's inks are nice, with the Colorverse reminding me of a Diamine Inkvent ink from last year, Diamine coming in with an interesting chameleon ink, and another ink from a brand I don't have too much experience with (best part of doing ink swaps!).

Colorverse

Flame Nebula is a toasty-looking red-orange or orange-red (both colors seem balanced in the mix). I am reminded of Diamine Fireside Snug from last year, except that ink has brown mixed in, while I see no brown tones in Flame Nebula. I really like Fireside Snug, so Colorverse's version is another one to add to my short list of oranges I like.

Diamine

Looking at the label for Nostalgia, I was expecting the base color to be a lighter mauve color, but it's actually a warmish, sepia brown.

There's a strong reddish/magenta-gold color-shifting chameleon shimmer which makes the base color look similar to a strawberry milk chocolate shade, but without the shimmer, it's more of a sepia, which still works for the name. It's a unique combination of base color and shimmer. Good job, Diamine.

Slackvent

Speaking of nostalgia, today's Slackvent ink is from Kobe, called Kitano Antique Sepia. According to the product page, the ink is based on an old, well-built, elementary school: "This color expresses the image of the old school building with an antique color." This sepia is a cooler, dark brown, and the ink was quite wet. It looks like it's in a color family together with Diamine Nostalgia's base color, the Diamine a warmer sibling. It was too dark for my tastes from the glass nib, but I think if I pick a drier writer, I may be able to better see the sepia color.

Today the brand ranking is Diamine, Colorverse, and Kobe. Or maybe a tie between Diamine and Colorverse, with Kobe a close runner-up. They're all good picks, though. Thoughts? Do you have a different ranking? Voice your opinions here, or discuss on Mastodon, or Bluesky.
